University of Louisville Cards sophomore, Tarah McCay, competed in the Canadian Olympic Trials for Track and Field. In the 1500 meter race, she finished eighth.

Pikeville College Basketball Coach Kelly Wells, will be the featured coach at the "Shoot to Be Drug Free" basketball camp sponsored by Unite Pike. Registration begins at 9 AM each day of the event. The Rev. Louis Coleman, credited with bringing attention to the lack of black coaches in Kentucky High Schools passed away this weekend. Coleman was a member of the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame.

Rick Dutrow, Big Brown's Trainer, was suspended for drugging horses. I am not a Dutrow fan, and while I had big hopes for Big Brown's Triple Crown bid, I shrudder to think such a superior horse is in the hands of Dutrow. To me that's sad.
