Kentucky Rules in the Blues City of Memphis

Joyce and Charlie Pinson, Kentucky Insurance Agents and Kentucky Sports fans

It's the first time in three years that Charlie and I haven't gone "bowling" for New Years with our Big Blue Cats. We just moved into our new house, and while we love the Big Blue Nation, we are a little tired from all the move coupled with holiday activities. So this year, we rounded up our college crowd and had them over for an evening of Wildcat football.

Things looked pretty grim in the first half of the Liberty Bowl. East Carolina came out trash talking and looking like aggressive warriors....well alright marauding Pirates ready to pillage and plunder. UK was less amphed up.

When one of my guests arrived late she asked, "Are you sorry you didn't going bowling?" I sure had an answer. If the first half is an indication of the second half...well I am tickled to be setting right here in my barn watching the game.

Thank goodness, for Coach Rich Brooks! He is a straight shooting coach, and surely he must have put a fire under our boys...because the second half looked like a totally different team. Our Cats brought home a third consective bowl victory!

We Pike Countians were sorry to see David Jones, a Belfry native, put on the sideline with injuries...especially after his spectacular run down the field. However, we are Big Blue Proud of our Kentucky Wildcats making a spectacular recovery. The strongarm charge as Ventrill Jenkins made the top ten bowl plays on ESPN.
