First thing in the morning, Coach Rich Brooks announced he would be cutting Curtis Pulley from the Kentucky team. Mike Hartline, has been given the nod at Wildcats starting quarterback role.Hartline will be an asset to the UK Wildcats; however that does cut the depth of the starting quarterbacks.

Talking with Coach Brooks, he pointed out that the Wildcats have come a long way. They are now in the position where they do not have to rebuild the program from scratch each year; but to replenish only as positions become available. RELOAD!
Looking at the Senior class, Brooks reported that Kentucky sports fan can expect better depth at the wide reciever position and the offensive backfield; four good running backs and an experienced offensive line.
Dickie Lyons looks to be the leader of the Kentucky Wildcats offensive line. Lyons, a wide reciever, has set a personal goal to double his output over last season. Lyons has a positive attitude, and is one of our favorites to interview.
Pike County native Kentucky Sports Star
David Jones, Belfry High School alum, will be a starting senior cornerback for the 2008 Wildcats. He is in the number one position on the depth chart for his position. Jones is confident; and I expect he will not disappoint the Big Blue nation this fall.
Defensive coordinator Steve Brown says David Jones was the toughest guy to beat in the off-season. Jones said of himself, he hopes to make a big splash this season.
Looking at the Pros
In NFL News, Brent Favre saw his hopes to play again with the Green Bay Packers dashed. He has been traded to the New York Jets. We wish the quarterback all the best in the Big Apple.

Charlie Pinson, Kentucky indepedendent insurance agent is the voice of Pikeville College Bears. A Kentucky sports enthusiast, Pinson enjoys a variety of sports...but football is perhaps his favorite. Look for Pinson on the sidelines at the Wildcat vs. Cardinal game; and in the pressbox at Pikeville College games. But mostly, look for him in the hospitality room at the upcoming Pike County Bowl.
